Our Chiropractic Techniques

Dr. Bryant Harris has been trained in the application of the most updated, specialized, chiropractic techniques. The primary goal of care at TruCentered Chiropractic Care is to use low force, highly specific, gentle adjustments to obtain optimal improvements. This has led Dr. Harris to utilize a “Layered Approach” in his analysis and adjusting.
The spinal column is designed in three layers. The other layer is muscle with the middle layer being made up of the vertebra, discs, and ligaments. Specialized adjustments address the restrictions and fixations, which affect the outer layers. That special something that is unique to the chiropractic approach is to release the core tension which is affecting the third and deepest layers – containing nerve connections, nerve pathways and reflexes that communicate pertinent vital information to aid in the facilitation of healing and self regulation. In order to address these stress and tension patterns, which are stored within the body and subsequent nerve centers, TruCentered Chiropractic Care has invested in the most advanced forms of digital neural scanning along with stress and wellness assessment tools.
Torque Release Technique (TRT)
This sophisticated system of analysis and adjusting is specifically utilized to address the chronic tension patterns that affect the third and deepest spinal layer, known as the neural-dural layer. A condition known as a subluxation exists when the communication between the spinal nerve and the body is persistently altered and thus distorted. TRT’s primary focus is to “reprogram” the nerve firing patterns affected by the subluxation. Through the application of a highly specific, controlled, recoil thrust by way of an instrument – the Integrator, an impulse stimulates the nerve connections. Through this style of adjusting, it is capable of calming and improving coordination as the nerve tension is restored and normalized.
Of interest to many is the effect that a TRT adjustment has on spinal cord reflexes that affect the regulation and repair of organs and the systems of our body. Chronic and daily stress has the ability to compound over time, thus triggering an unhealthy imbalance in the abilities for our nervous system to perform optimally. An analogy that can be used to describe this whole body reaction is seen with that of a guitar string. When the ideal tension is maintained on a string, the perfect note is played. When there is either too much tension or too much slack present, the string loses its tone and is unable to produce the desired note. Similarly, altered tension along the spinal cord can lead to altered communication in the nervous system. Interestingly enough, cord tension is deeply affected by the position and motion present within the spinal joints. Chronic misalignments and stresses from varied sources, including postural abnormalities, emotions or chemical imbalances have the ability to alter the tone of the nervous system.
Chiropractic research has identified the phenomenon of stress creating a subluxation that in turn leads to altered nerve communication resulting in the decline of one’s health and vitality. Through this same research and studies, it has been confirmed that through the utilization of the chiropractic adjustment that these damaging chronic tension patterns can be released and subsequently the tone of that “guitar string” is able to play the desired note. The rapid aging of the body’s tissues is a result of stress and dis-stress reactions that cannot be naturally managed. Arthritis is a result of having advanced aging in the joints of the body. Rapid aging typically occurs in organs or body tissues if the communication of repair and the regulatory signals are interfered with. Chiropractic adjustments are designed to aid in releasing tension found in the nervous system and joints, in turn they effectively slow the aging process.
The intent of a progressive care plan is to address the issues that bring a practice member to us and then work with them to develop lifestyle changes that can stand the tests of time and daily stress. In the Layered Approach, change begins immediately. The upper layers of muscle and joints are trained to stretch, move and strengthen. The deepest layer containing the nerve connections is the most important to change. Adjustments designed to target the third layer aid in reprogramming the firing sequence in the nerve connections and from that moment, the body memorizes the new set point. Muscles and joints have relatively short memories but the nervous system is designed to have lasting memory. As a result of this, adjustments affecting this third layer, they do not lose their effectiveness unless stress (chemical, physical, or emotional) continues to dominate the pictures.
Memory, Movement and Momentum
As the nerves, muscles and joints memorize the changes, the body learns how to utilize this new freedom. Practice members under regular chiropractic care consistently report increased energy, greater movement, stronger immune response, clarity of thought, and more balanced metabolism as the adjustments release and correct tension from the core. The reprogramming of the nerve connections is an ongoing process but patients can begin to notice and feel the changes immediately. A scheduled plan is designed specifically for each individual practice member so that these changes can be continued and monitored. The principles of memory, movement and momentum are applied to each individual. Our intention is to have each adjustment build upon the successes of the one’s prior. The ultimate goal of care at TruCentered Chiropractic Care is to help you “widen the gap” between sickness and wellness and to your health and vitality in the most natural of ways.
